An Interview with Philippe CASEAU
Deputy Chief Executive Officer at CAP V.I
In what context do the training actions you are going to talk about take place?
Philippe Caseau: We needed to train new arrivals in the company. Some were at our French site in Lyon, others in England. (We were acquired at the end of 2019 by an English group. Our English colleagues work remotely on our ERP M3 that we implemented with Authentic in 2014.) The goal was to allow all these new arrivals to benefit not from training given by their user colleagues but to receive a more academic perspective.
Why this choice to outsource training on M3?
Philippe Caseau: When one user trains another, they explain their own understanding of the system. They often found their own tips, their path of understanding and use, but it is not necessarily the ideal path. By bringing together the perspectives of a key user and the trainer from Authentic, we wanted to ensure the best possible training.
How was the training content constructed?
Philippe Caseau: Before the training, we met with the Educational Manager of Authentic. It turns out that this same trainer had conducted the training in 2014 during the implementation of M3. She was therefore very familiar with our environment. With a key user, she completely revised the training materials and updated them. The result was a turnkey training program, both academic and practical.
What type of profiles were these trainings aimed at and how did they go?
Philippe Caseau: For end users, over 2 days. One group was trained remotely, the other group in person in Lyon.
What is your assessment of these trainings?
Philippe Caseau: We are very satisfied. When we welcome new employees, we will very likely call on Authentic again to train them.
Training is a profession. There is real added value in having the training conducted by an external trainer rather than by our internal users.
